Mark O. Selects A Child to Sponsor

Hello, I have been with Dream Image Signs since early 2013.  One thing I was happy to become a part of is Dream Image Signs’ charity / social responsibility.

At Dream Image Signs we proudly support children programs locally and around the world through Compassion Canada’s sponsorship program. One of the world’s leading child development organizations, Compassion Canada, sponsors more than 1.4 million children through twenty-six countries.

Dream Image Signs sponsors children on behalf of their employees so we can share in the helping of others as part of the company.  The process of selecting a child for sponsorship is a process we don’t like to take too lightly or without heartfelt thought. Through the website of Compassion Canada (www.compassion.ca) I was  able to read brief situational descriptions for each child, including family, hopes, likes and a photo. From these images and details of so many impoverished children, I was able to include my wife and kids and find a real connection with a child in need. There are so many cute faces and heart-wrenching stories here the final decision is extremely difficult. We wish we were in a position to help every single little face and put smiles on them all.  The whole family was excited to see the child’s profile come in a few days later and now we can all take part in writing and building a relationship with that child.

We are currently sponsoring over ten children from various locations around the world and proudly corresponding with each child as they grow and develop, posting updated photos of them in the halls of our shop. Hopefully with a few more meals, medications and smiles than before coming into our lives here at Dream Image Signs.

The sponsoring of children is hopefully making a difference to these children and their families, but also, the process helps us to feel even better about the work we do here everyday, and hopefully our clients choosing us to do business with knowing some of that is supporting kids… in the city of Calgary and in the World… It’s a small world after all :)
